I will buy this car RIGHT now, no financing needed, if you pay off my loan with Honda for this car which you can turn around and sell for a higher amount.

I really want this 240.

just bought a new blazer last week,
there were many lots that i went to that would pay off your trade on the spot.
so there is a good chance that you will have no problems doing this.

How much is left on the loan? That'll either make or break the deal.

It's a stupid decision, though.

What is the bluebook price (dealer trade-in price) for your car? Does it exceed the bluebook price (dealer sale price) for the car you want? Have you run the VIN to see what problems it may have?

I still think you are wasting money trying to dump a perfectly good civic for a car that's much much older and only marginally less money.

But that's just me.

Trading an $11,000 car in on a $7,000 is a waste of time and money unless the car you are trading has been an absolute lemon of a car from the start.

I owe $11,743 on my loan.

Nada.com average trade-in $10,225
Nada.com average retail $12,225

Also, this does not take in to consideration that the vehicle comes with a 60,000 mile warranty, which should be valued from $500 - $1500.

Go to Edmunds. What is the dealer price for the Nissan? What is the trade in price for the Honda? What is the difference between the two? That is what you should put in / get back from the deal. If it is less than your loan balance, you will have to pony up.

Ok, so I actually clicked on the links. How much do you owe on the car? Are you just in over your head with car payments and want to get out?

Oh, and you just let all of ATOT know your phone number. Dunno if you really intended to do that.

Result: no go. Salesman was extremely nice (obviously) and said that he would have to give me a wholesale type of price on a trade in but the 240 is still available.

Tell the salesmen that I said he's an idiot. He could just raise the price on the 240 to cover the loss on the trade. Dealerships do this every freakin' day.

Result: You don't have $6400 equity on your Honda. If you had, the answer would have been yes.
