Hey all,

I'm in the process of installing a new boost gauge in my '95 850 Turbo. The line from the gauge is about 1/16" and is run through the firewall passthrough to the vacuum tree next to the throttle body. The problem is that the nipple on the vacuum tree is 3/16".

I purchased a vacuum cap and drilled a very small hole to squeeze the vacuum line through. It seems to work alright but there is always a hissing noise and the vacuum line will move in and out of the vacuum cap.

Is there a good airtight adhesive that I can apply to the end of the cap so that the line will not move? And a good lubricant to apply to the cap to make the nipple airtight? And it also needs to be fairly heat resistant as the location is under a cap very close to the engine. Although none of the components will be in contact with the engine.

Thanks!

They are! If kept clean, midwest "winter" makes it yucky. :(

I don't know how well it would do in your application, though..you might need to wrap it with something.

Maybe silicone caulking? I used that to seal some wires that pass through my firewall.
