YACT - Well, sort of.

Typically its a terminology difference. Aftercooler cools compressed air from a supercharger and an intercooler is used after a turbo.
 
An Intercooler cools the air that is going into your intake. Cold air is more dense than warm air so you get more air mixed in when your piston fires. I have no idea what an aftercooler is.
