My 2000 Nissan Maxima starts shaking like crazy everytime I stop at a red light or stop sign when the AC is running. If I shut off the AC it pretty much stops, and when I shift into park it noticeably improves. Any ideas why it's doinf this?

2000 Nissan Maxima SE, but I put on insane mileage, it's around 152,000 now.

Sounds like your AC compressor is starting to seize... good thing summer is almost over.

Would that make a difference if I was in park or drive?

It sounds like your engine's rpm is dropping too low when it has a load on it at idle.

Can a bad 02 sensor contribute to that?

bad o2 sensor shoudl almost definitely throw a code though. perhaps its the transmission (since they suck on those cars)

check engine light is on, the code is bad 02 sensor. I wonder if that can be contributing to this problem too?

More power available to divert to the AC compressor when it is in park
