YACT: Want to lift my truck. (Toyota Tundra). He;lp

So SEVERAL PEOPLE I KNOW have mentioned that I should look into a 3" or so lift for my Tundra.

There's a lot of companies that make and install these kits, does anyone have specific recommendations as to what I should look for in a lift kit?

It's by make and model... for us guys with the new GM full size trucks the best is Rancho for the 4" kits.

It's got VERY strong parts and the least amount of welding/cutting

I think lifting your truck looks stupid, but that's just my humble opinion. Not to mention, wouldn't it be really easy to roll over like that?
 
Pfft. Don't pay any attention to these guys. They don't understand that a vehicle can be LIFTED and not only LOWERED. *insert Honda/Nissan fanboy joke here*

I have a mild lift on my Trooper. Springs in back, TBar crank in front and longer travel/heavy duty shocks all around.

Like you, my truck has IFS (blech) so I was very limited. But you have a Tundra; they actually MAKE IFS lift kits for it...you're lucky.

If you've got the money, then go for it!!!! :beer:😎

Remember though, that in addition to actually buying the kit, you've got to factor installation into it...best advice (unless you are VERY mechanically inclined) is to buy a package deal from an off-road store that would include the price of the kit and installation. These kits often do not come with instructions of any kind at all; you have to know what you're doing.

I've been thinking about lifting my Tundra a bit also ... plan to put an add-a-leaf kit on the back, mostly to stiffen it up under load a bit, and get some more clearance (about 1.5") then put some coil spacers on the front to level it out. Probably not this year though.

LOL! Tell me about it. You can't speak "truck" to Rice BoyZ you should know that.

Ironically, here in San Antonio, it's not uncommon to an F350 with 18 inches of lift and 44" tires...they never get pulled over though...don't know how much they enforce a bumper height law...don't even know if there is one down here.

Pirate Offroad is the mecca of the offroad community, just dont go around asking questions like "do these rims match this color?" 😀 They could point you in the right direction, though.
