Wife just graduated, received a new position in the hospital where she works (went from admin secretary down to unit clerk to finish school, then up to RN)

Hasn't even received her first paycheck for 2 weeks as a nurse and the extra money is burning a hole in her pocket. Already pre-approved for a loan.

Soooooo...... looking at 1 year old vans (lease/rental) <20,000 miles.

Any recommendations as to which van to get? dodge grand caravan? Chrysler town and country? Something else? (I'm not listing them all)?

Plus, which has the best warranties or is the most dependable?

dodge has the 7/70 (or maybe 7/100?) powertrain right now, it is transferable with a fee, but you should be elligible.

My mom has a 2003 Grand Caravan and she loves it. My dad did buy an extended warranty when they bought it, which you can buy all the way up until the base warranty expires. So far there has been one recall on it, which Dodge fixed. The drivers side climate zone went on the fritz and there was a factory defect on a rubber stop, both of which were fixed without hassle. I've driven it and it's nice -- not my kind of car, but it's been reliable and they've been extremely happy with it.

I recommend looking at a 2001-2002 Ford Windstar. They are under value right now due to early build and quality issues with the 1995-1998 model years. They are very sound vehicle and get decent mileage for their size, 18-21 mpg real word numbers.
