I don't know jack about vehicles:

My truck lately has started to "rub" as it backs up, and only cometimes. Would this be an issue with the brake padas wearing out or something? It makes a good ammount of coise, and its starting to annoy the apartment manager.
 
It would help greatly if you stated the Make, Model, year and if it's 2 wheel drive or four.

Put your hands back on the wheel and it should go away.

 
Since you "don't know jack" I would recommend taking it to a qualified mechanic and getting it inspected. It could be a number of problems and if you think it is brakes, wouldn't you want them to work correctly???
