No, I didn't change the oil....😱

I'll just leave it for the engine to burn off. I actually changed the oil filter, whic hwas A BITCH:| I am 5'11 and usign onyl a jack, I had no room down there to manuever:|

Anyways, I have a question. I was quite naughty😱 and left the oil filter in their for like 50-75kmiles:Q and the oil was very dirty...even the 3 quarts I added a week ago. Having replaced the filter, how should one gauge the increased amount of wear that it will endure with an already dirty engine?

In other words, should I run this for a shorter than spec time (10000) or less and repalce it, or is it irrelevant?

Thanks.

EDIT: And yes, it burns oil😛

Bad move only using the jack. If the jack slips, you are a dead man. ALWAYS use jackstands. ALWAYS.

even if the car uses oil, change the oil,and filter every 5,000 miles.

Use the "high mileage" oil,and it will lessen some of the leaks, caused by dried out seals.

actually, depending on how MUCH oil it burns, you can extend the oil change interval quite a while. You do need to change the filter, though.

Back when my friend owned the Celica and it was leaking a quart of oil every 80 miles, there was no need to change the oil ever.

The OP makes me fscking sick. :|

People like you are why buying used cars [can] suck.

If it's burning oil, ie blown rings, then change the oil and filter. Use a 30 or 40 weight non-detergent oil. This is usually the cheapest stuff in the store. Once you go to non-detergent you can't go back, so buy a case or two of it when you find it. A can of STP wouldn't hurt, either.

won't matter really if he's burning oil. Keep adding new and the oil is always new. Takes a long time to wear out a filter.
Absolutely incorrect.

Oil filters, particularly small ones, are dead after 3-6k miles. That is, full of filtered sh!t and bypassing because oil can no longer flow through the filter element.

I didn't see this in the OP the first time, but thought it really needed emphasis, so QFT
