YACT: Tinting recommendations, guidelines?

couple of questions.
1) does anyone have any recommendations for a tinting shop in the Phoenix/Tempe area.

2) if not, what should I be looking for (tinting terminology or whatnot) besides prices?

3) I'm going to school at ASU but I'm still going to have California plates on my vehicle. I called CHP and they told me that despite arizona's laws (front window tinting is allowed in AZ, but not in CA), i would still get cited if I drove my car back to CA. On the flip side I know plenty of people in CA who actually live there, still have their front windows tinted, and haven't gotten cited yet. Should I do the front window tinting despite the law and just risk getting cited? My car is being parked outside in AZ so the heat is pretty bad and I think it would be worth it for reasons besides cosmetic ones.

thanks for the help/advice

front tinting IS legal in california. It's just that you're not allowed a deep tint.

choose a color you want, and make 100% sure that they lifetime guarantee the work. You don't want to have to deal with peeling or bubbling 5 years down the line and do it all over again.

Sometimes when I come to ATOT I swear that Google must be broken...

CA does allow side front window tinting, but the net percentage of light that must pass through (70%) is so similar to factory tint levels that the effect is that side front window tinting is essentially not allowed.

edit: and yeah, just risk getting cited. I've been running illegal tint levels on all my cars in OR and WA (with occasional trips into CA) for the past 10 years and have yet to be cited (or even noticed).

Tint is not bling btw.

Ok, so they allow so little that there's hardly a difference. Thanks, despite the sarcasm. So back to my original question...

Yeah i'd hardly call front window tinting in arizona "cosmetic". Park outside in Tempe... it's 110 outside imagine what it is inside your car.
