YACT: TGR Valve?

So I found out what was wrong with my car, I need a new oxygen sensor and a new TGR valve. The O2 senor is no problem to replace, but i am slightly puzzled about the TGR Valve, I believe it is located somewhere in the exhaust, but I am not sure where. Could someone please give me some hints as to where I might find the valve?

The car is a 1989 dodge ramcharger with a 5.2L 318.

Thanks,

-Brian

EGR valve...not TGR.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

I think mine needs to be replaced, too, or so the shop said a few years ago when my Check Engine Soon light came on. Maybe an O2 sensor now or throttle-position sensor. Been running real rough since end of May (maybe it's that damn reformulated gas?)

as it's been said, it's EGR. the valve, if your engine is equipped with one, is usually mounted on the intake manifold somewhere and has a hose connected to the exhaust. sometimes the passages clog up with carbon and this may or may not (depending on how computer-interactive the valve is) set a code. it may just cause rough running.

a simple test to see if it's still moving is to reach under the diaphragm and try and push up on it. if it moves then that's the first obstacle overcome.

Those particular engines also are known to have injector problems.

On those engines the EGR is mounted right behind the throttle body on the intake
manifold. Two bolts is all that holds it in.
