YACT: symtoms of bad power window regulator?

So yesterday as i'm heading to work I lower my window and later try to raise it -- it keeps jamming up in the middle. I can't really work on it till after work, but it's been raining here in NJ since yesterday and it's dark by the time I get home anyway (thus I haven't had a chance to take the door apart and take a look at it).

But basically it looks like the window "jumped the track" -- the window seems to be "outside" the rubber track it should otherwise be between. There's also this "clanking" noise when I close the door, kind of like something inside broke loose. The window does seem to go up halfway though (till it gets stuck due to being "outside" the rubber tracks.

For those that might have experience with this kind of stuff (I don't) does this sound like a problem with the regulator?

you might be able to just open the door up and put the window back on it's track.

I'd head over to a forums specific to your car and ask there, you will recieve much more focused and probably better advice there than you will here.

Good point..thanks.

Sounds like a nut/bolt has come loose from the bottom of the track, and if so it should be a fairly simple repair. In the meantime, you can try raising the window while guiding the glass into the rubber seal as it goes up.
