I would get a small SUV that is actually offroad capable (Unlike Expedition and Suburban), and offroad with it. Or, for the same price as those behemoths, get a sport-luxury car which won't make me look like a soccer mom.

The Explorer IS too small inside. How this came to be, I have no idea, but I'm glad the trend toward larger vehicles is still rolling. As the nitwit American manufacturers are in the process of downsizing everything, the Japanese are increasing the size of their offerings. Does Detroit need a slap upside the head, or what?Originally posted by: KokomoGST
not for invoice... I'd rather get a nice Explorer Eddie Bauer for invoice. That's enough of a SUV for me... anything bigger is sheer overkill.

I don't think you're getting that great of a deal on the Expedition. I bought a new Ford recently and we paid right around invoice plus there were incentives already and this was an '04. It was an Escape though, not an Expedition. I think the best deals on Ford SUVs are on Explorers, but I can't offer too much insight because I didn't shop for anything that big or expensive.
Also, I don't think this is a great place to ask this question though because people will just tell you the cars that they like or to buy used. Yes cars depreciate and some do it very rapidly but don't let anyone discourage you from getting what you want. It's your money. Not everyone wants a $9000 automobile. I'd suggest driving everything that meets your requirements and then going with your instincts.
LOL, I am 6' 6" and weigh 275. I played football in college and all my life I have been a big guy. There's no amount of atkins that'll reduce my height a foot and put me comfortably behind the wheel of an Escape. We have one of those BTW and I don't drive it regularly because of the headroom. I'm after a full size vehicle primarily because of the headroom issue.Originally posted by: WinkOsmosis

ATKINS FATTY. And he didn't say that in his original post because his folds of fat were probably blocking his arms making typing difficult.
