YACT: Suggest some interesting used cars

Keep it under $15,000.

Things I like:

Toyota MR2 Spyder
Lincoln LS
Lincoln Mark VIII
Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor
Nissan Maxima
Isuzu Vehicross

I'm trying to stay away from mainstream, as we like our vehicles to be unique. I do not like most GM products nor any Hondas, so don't suggest them. Gas mileage isn't a big deal to me.

The MR2 would be a fun little car if you can deal with the complete lack of practicallity.

We have a MINI Cooper S and a lifted Wrangler, impracticality is our game. 😛

Scion xB
Honda Element
Subaru Forester (Turbo 5-speed runs hihg 13 second quarter miles 😱 )

You could pick up an FD RX-7 for about that much. Reliability is iffy at best but they are freakin' fun cars. You'll always something to do at least. Plus they are rare.

They make lots of dry carbon fiber body parts for the MR2 Spyder... and it's no longer available from Toyota. Mmm... dry carbon...

I was thinking about one as my next summer beater. Either that or the IS300 when it drops enough after the release of the new IS250 & 350.

OK, well I found a VERY low miles 2000 MR2 for $16,000. While the price is high, it is a dealer and it can be worked down. How much should I offer?

How about the Mazda Millenia S. Not that many on the road since it was discontinued in 2002, and it's supposed to be nice entry level luxury at a bargain price with good fuel econony
