YACT- Strut tower brace on 89-04 Mustang?

I've been toying with the idea of putting a strut tower brace on my 04 Stang, but has anyone done it? Seems like a good idea to stop flex, which can make the car handle goofy on mixed terrain. But, is it legit, or a waste of money?

Anything you can do to strengthen the front is worth it. Even on the vintage Mustangs there were optional export braces and monte carlo bars all focused on making the front more rigid.

I put a STB on my 94 Z28. It really stiffened up the front end and really helped with front-end body flex and roll. I would get one.

It helps. I had a strut tower brace on my '94 Mustang GT.

Subframe connectors would be a very very worthwhile upgrade though. I'd also go with upgraded struts/shocks and lower it about an inch front and rear with some quality progressive rate springs.

BTW-The '94-95 GT came with a front strut tower brace stock as did some of the Cobras in various years IIRC. It is a worthwhile upgrade...I don't know why Ford stopped putting them on the cars quite honestly.

Is your car a 5spd or auto? If it's a manual I'd recommend a short throw shifter, it will make a world of difference in the feel of how the car shifts. Much shorter throws and more precise.

If your car is an auto I'd recommend selling it and buying a stick. 😉

Yeah, but gotta keep the wifey happy. She refuses to drive a stick. If she's not happy, nobody's happy. 😉

This car suffers from the chronic Mustang "bump steer", so it tends to be all over the road at a whim, when the road surface changes. Since I like the car, I am going to do some upgrades.
It's a 2004 GT Premium, which I bought new. It now has 41K on it, been through one set of tires, and, not sure I have liked the way the BFG's I put on last have handled. They also give out a lot of road hum.

Brake wear indicator is on now, so going to try and make it another 1000 miles before replacing brakes.
