Avalanche:
77K miles
Z71
3.73 rear
5.3 litre

for

02 GMC Yukon Denali
66K miles
loaded out.
6.0 litre
unknown rear.

dealer is askin 22 for the denali. Edmunds shows the Avalanche as worth anything between 22 and 25. while KBB shows it as worth 18???? wtf.

yes both are gas guzzlers, but we have an 18 ft trailer we haul stuff with.

Unless you are towing the trailer *ALL* the time and for an 18' weighs a bizzare amount, keep the Avy.

I think you misunderstand - I believe the op is saying they can't consider something more economical because of the 18' trailer.

I would imagine they need the extra interior storage or seating of the Yukon vs. the Avalanche.

I <3 Denalis. I would take the Denali.

Note, this has nothing to do with power, performance, or usefuleness.

I would take the Denali, but I seriously doubt any dealer will do a straight up trade, they will want something.

They are going to say you have high miles for an '03 and offer you about 16,500 or 17.

Just a guess.

purely highway, honestly it is. lifetime avg mpg for the avalanche is 18mpg. so thats highway only.

see but i dont get why kbb and edmunds differ so much.

and 67K for an 02 (manuf 10/01) isnt that high, but still higher.

Well, personally (and this is obviously just me)... the Avalanche is more or less loaded. The only options are sunroof, leather, onstar, captains chairs..um... fancier stock stereo..... and that's about all I can think of.

Unless you're needing that extra heated cargo space, even if it was straight across, I'd still keep the Avy. It's newer and they're darn nice. Considering they are making you pay undoubtedly a few $$G, that's even less of a reason IMHO.

The Avy is more utilitarian IMHO.. but whatever suits your specific needs I guess.
