YACT - Squealing Breaks

2004 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, approx 14,000 miles... since you'll probably want to know 🙂

I noticed the breaks squealing so I took it into the dealer (under warranty still) and they checked out OK.

However they still squeal... but only at slow speeds (like while parking) and when moving backwards.

Is this "normal", or do I need to ride the dealer a little harder?

Thanks,

- TK

That's what my father-in-law said too... but he's about as much of a car expert as I am. lol

ok..using the patented "Go out and look" method. It appears that both front and back are disc. I'll attempt to confirm that.

Yeah, it's probably just normal wear. As long as it's not doing it all the time, and goes away when you brake hard, I wouldn't worry.

If it's bothering you, you could try spraying the rotors with brake cleaner. Putting anti-squeak grease on the back of the pads is another thing to try, but with that new a truck I wouldn't think you'd need to.

I wouldn't worry about that, my STi does the same thing from time to time even though everything is fine.
