Any ideas? Brakes is the obvious choice, but why would it squeak while turning as well?

Does it squeak if you turn a little, a lot, or all of the above? Does the squeaking depend on the speed you're driving? Also, you might as well throw out car information such as make, model, year, etc.

It is brake pads. When turning things twist and can change the squeeling. Get your pads fixed soon.

I have the same problem, too. Took it to an autoshop, they resurfaced the discs, changed the new pads. Everything went great for the first two weeks, then the same problem appeared. It's pissing me off.

Some pads have a short stiff metal finger on them. When the pads have about 20% lining left this finger will touch the rotor and make an irritating noise while braking. Turning can load the rotor in such a why, that it MAY make contact.
Especially if the wheel bearings are a little loose.

This may not be the true cause, but it is worth a look :)
