I was just wondering how much HP this engine has? Torque?

Specifically, how much when it's used in a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am GT Sedan.

I don't think they had the 3.8's then. I think those were still 3.3.

Edit: The 3.3's had 160 hp and 185 ft-lb of torque.

There were actually 3.1's I believe with those specs, and 3.4's with 160hp/200 lb-ft torque.

I guess they had 3.1's also, but the 3.3's have those numbers according to this site. Could be wrong though I guess.

Edit: Looks like the 3.1's didn't show up until '94.

Ooh hmm, I thought they shared engine parts with the Lumina, which had the 3.1 and actually has the same hp/torque ratings.

The GM 3800 V6 had 170hp when used in the Olds Eighty Eight LS at that time so it would have close to the same specs in the Grand Am.

My '97 Olds has 205 hp. The engine is called 3800 Series II. It is also availiblke in a SC version producing 240 hp. The new series III with SC puts out 260 hp IIRC.

I forgot how much torgue but probably around 220 lb.
