Per this thread many months ago I finally started my motor swap this weekend. Pics can be found here. I had already prepped the motor by replacing various seals, timing belts, water pump, etc. This weekend was spent pulling the old motor and figuring out the right combination of accesories. We also did a lot of the wiring (mainly modifying the old harness). Haven't added on the extra harness I'll need for VTEC and such. Also have to get a few things before I can fire this baby up. I'd say we accomplished what we wanted to when we started yesterday.
So you know, in the pics I'm in the dark blue shirt and my buddy (mechanic by trade and hobby) is in the red shirt. This is the first time either of us have attempted anything like this.

Awesome man. Keep up the good work and let me know how the swap goes. I'm trying to save up for a b18c5 into an EG hatch :)

I wish. Those are 4-lug Rotas. OZ doesn't make those wheels in the offset/bolt pattern I need.

phew, is that really a good price? My buddy paid the same for a brand new chevy 6.0L that in an H2 that was damaged intransit to the dealer. He got tranny, engine, and transfer case.

Whats with the gloves? Don't like getting your hands dirty? Not trying to flame you just wondering.

Yep. That's exactly it. A lot easier on the hands and the skin (don't need to use harsh cleaners. pumice isn't as gentle as they say).

iamwiz82, that is a good price for that motor/tranny.

Nice swap. Now your car will have some decent power. Looking good, keep it up and keep it clean.

I wear gloves when I don't need finger sensitivity. It keeps your hands from getting dirty, which helps keep your tools and anything else you touch clean.

It may be a "manly" stereotype to become black while working on a car, but it is not good for you.. and it is actually quite important to keep your work area clean.. especially when doing something like assembling an engine.

2000 Civic Si or just the engine from one? I used to have one a long time ago, turbo'd and everything. It was a fun car just because it was so light with so much power.

It was a custom T3/T4 hybrid. After all the internal work and custom piping, and electronics it cost me about 7K before labor. I was running 12psi and running mid 13s. Then it was stolen last July, the engine was stripped, I got the car back minus the 7K worth of parts, got a good deal from a neighbor on his 97 Supra TT and sold my Civic for that. Then just recently, lost my job, had to go back to college, so I sold the Supra to make ends meet, and now I'm driving a Civic again....though not nearly as fast as my last one. In fact, it's just downright slow.

You sold a Supra TT? Blasphemer!

My neighbor has an 1989 Supra TT. I'd kill for it. That body owns the late (1993-the end) Supra bodies. Fscker doesn't even drive it, he drives his Corolla or Focus.

No, I sold a Supra TT with 600hp. And yes, I really wish I didn't have to, but Purdue is expensive for out of state students, and I really needed the money. I had a good time with it, finally got enough traction to hit mid 11s...that was exciting. But now, I'm lucky if I can hit mid-15s.

Wow. I want what you're smoking.

What a small turbo the T3/T4 is ;). Atleast you had the pleasure of owning a Supra TT. Any mods to it? BPU? If not, you really didn't gain much if your other civic was running mid 13s, except for my respect :).

Ok, now you have to tell me what you did to it? T66? VPC, GCC? I'm allllllllllllllllllllllllllll ears!

T60 with AEM EMS, TRD Exhaust and downpipe, and lots of dyno-tuning time. Boost set at 18psi for street, 24psi for track. 24psi is where the power is made. I was planning on upgrading to SupraStore's stage 4 kit, but then the whole money thing happened, and now my baby's gone.
