YACT: So my car died :(

So, my Buick Le Sabre 1994 finally gave up the ghost. It had 180k miles on it and served me well. I'm going to miss it. The electrical system died. Its not worth fixing. The engine/body was perfectly fine. Now onto the question. I have a budget of about $6k the less the better of course. I live in NJ and was wondering if people have any suggestions or is possibly selling a car 😛.

Been looking at the ubiqitous Honda Civic. Manual is preferable and a fair bit of cargo space. A wagon would be awesome.

*Misses his old boat*

A nicely equiped Ford Taurus Wagon should fit the bill nicely if you want a lot of cargo room for cheap.

I'd suggest a Crown Vic with police package. Great cars, you'll find a late-90's or 2000 for 6k, if you are lucky.

They'll be high mile cars, but they are pretty reliable, a buddy of mine has had one for several years with no issues.

Yea, I've been looking at Corolla's hard to find a low mileage one 🙁 But they are good cars. The wagons seem really rare around me too.

you don't really need to find a terribly low mileage car, they are decent into the hundreds of thousands, but i understand you probably also don't just want to get into a car NOW with a couple hundred k.. not too many wagons out there that would be cheap.. the Taurus defintely would be... not as good on gas that's for sure, and probably not as economical... but not expensive, and lots of room nonetheless.
