That sucks.
I hit a racoon (huge one) on a trip the first weekend I had my car... basically was the second day I had it. Was driving down a back road, dark, and it just jumped our right in front of me, no time to do anything. Fortunately, it didn't take any paint off. It put a dent in the plastic bumper which I was able to pop back and it broke a small section in the middle but it's not visable unless you look for it (because of the angle it's underneath another part).
So, all-in-all it wasn't too bad. but still, it was a 1day old car and my insurance was high enough that I didn't want to make any claims on it. So, I never got it fixed. With my luck, if I had, someone would 'bump' me in a parking lot and screw it up anyway. Argh.
To be honest, that doesn't bother me as much as the big old door ding someone was kind enough to give me. That one really irks me.
