It's not too bad, but it's still a little aggrivating. Would touch up paint help to cover the scratches?

You scratched a piece of plastic. Whoop-de-do.

don't use touch up paint, it will make it look worse. If you REALLY want to fix it, you can repaint it, but you will have to spend a while color sanding it so it looks and feels right. Unless that is a mclaren in a cunning disguise, forget it, it's not worth it.

If you have a high speed buffer and know how to use it, I can direct you to some products that will fill that in and make it look brand new. No sanding involved (we used it all the time in the detail shop).
