YACT: Saw a Chrysler Crossfire today in person

I was heading to the Chrysler Dealership to grab some parts, and I noticed a Crossfire on the lot, Charcoal grayish. Got up close to check out the details, and the thing is tiny! Looks real snug on the inside. The rims were huge, looked very nice. I'm a little disappointed in the engine choice (wish they dropped the 2.5 from the 300M and aimed a little more for 350Z territory). The car looks different than in the pics, the proportions of the body really work well together. The slanted rear hatch which looked funny in the pics, looks very natural in person. Anyways, the car looks great IRL, it just oozes class. Too bad the sticker price was 33k 😱

Pics thanks to Dieselstation

Do you know that's manufactured in Germany, but not by Mercedes? Do you know the Crossfire has a Mercedes engine, chasis (SLK), and transmission? All the sudden that $33K doesn't seem too bad, imo.

I agree completely with that statement. It really does look considerably odd in pictures.

We dicussed this a little while ago.

Anyway, I think it's pretty fugly.
The interior sucks, the exterior doesn't appeal to me... it has the smallest rear window on the face of the planet and I don't understand how anyone could see anything behind them.
You can do much better for $35k.

(And yes, I have seen about 3 in person, all on the road.)

I saw one here in finland yesterday at a gas station, being filled up. It had german plates, dunno wth it was doing here 🙂 But yeah, it's a really small car, but really good looking imo.

The local dealership had one and they let me sit in it. I'm not fat by any means and I felt really cramped. It is definitely a cool little car.

What's with that rear spoiler. I saw one on the 101 when I was visiting LA. We were in traffic so I didn't think it was anything special... but once we started hitting highway speeds, the spoiler came up... was pretty cool looking...

Yes, very aware of all of those statements. Yes, it's a GREAT car for the money - pretty much getting a Mercedes for 10K less than an SLK - however, I think Chrysler could've tapped more into G35 Coupe territory with this one. Nevertheless, it's a very classy car!

I thought for a second, when i read your thread title, that I was going to hear about you standing in a crossfire between swat members and some thug. Unfortunately another wasted moment in the off topic threads
