I need to replace a rod bearing in my '97 Rav4. Would Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone carry this? Or where would I need to go?

They are likely special order items at Autozone or Advance.
I know that you could get them for domestic engines. Don't know if import engine bearings would be available through those stores.

For as long as that rod was making noise, that you chose to ignore, the crankpin/rod journal is most probably out of round by .0015" and won't hold a new bearing in service anywho. Buy a good used engine and have someone install it=done.

Nope. Once I learned what was wrong with it, I stopped driving it.

As was said in the other thread, it really doesen't sound like you have the mechanical aptitude to do this.

And as I said in the other thread, chances are the rest of your engine is pretty severely worn if one of your rods is toast, unless it happened to be defective or something weird happened like the oil galley got plugged..

As said above, buy a used engine and be done with it. Replacing a rod bearing is a MAJOR job!!!
