Sorry about yet another car audio thread...but are remanufactured head units any good? The ebay auctions portray them as good as new.

I'm looking at the Pioneer DEH-P840MP CD/MP3/WMA player

Remanufactured (only 90 day manufacturer warranty) - $274 shipped on eBay
Brand New (1 year manufacturer warranty) - ~$340 shipped on eBay

I'd really like to save the money and get the reman. HU. However, if the reman. HU's are crap, then I would like to buy a new one.

They were either a returned item or they were broken and were serviced.

I've owned 4 Pioneer HU's and have never had a problem with any of them. They're all solid as a rock to me
 
I have the DEH-P8400MP and it really is an awesome head unit. Just make sure it doesn't get in the way of your shifter... like it does mine. 🙁
