YACT: Recommendations please?

I know, another car thread....

Recommend your favorites from this list?

1. Dodge Stratus/Plymouth Breeze
2. Chevy Malibu
3. Nissan Altima
4. Saturn Coupe or Sedan

I know the Chevy Prizm would be a good fit here as well, but insurance is reported to 'be worse than average' at MSN Cars. 🙁

I am looking for the lowest total cost of ownership (fuel, insurance, repairs etc.) Low insurance rates are better as I am turning 22 and will be screwed for a few more years yet. All cars would be 1997 onward models in the 3-7K range. All cars are rated 'average' with respect to insurance at MSN Cars. Edmunds has dinged the Saturns for poor quality, but other likes the other models. All makes are Consumer Best Buys.

Thanks for any advice. Any further information on any of these cars would be appreciated.

The Altima and Saturn would be the best bets here.

My Saturn was extra cheap for me to insure for some reason, and parts/repairs were cheap too.

If the money ends up being the same though, the Altima is the better, nicer car.

Thank you for all the recommendations. I will head over to the Nissan dealership to get an idea of what he/she to offer.

Accord didn't make the list I'm afraid. Sorry. 🙁
