swapped out factory rear speakers for some 6x9 Alpines that aren't new... but also swapped in a new headunit.

Trying to determine best course of action to resolve this... they're only outputting faint bass sounds. Is this a headunit connector mis-connection or something ? The speakers were working in the old car..

Just as I thought, a Pioneer. ;) You've got "Front Soundstage" enabled, which cuts off the mid/hi to the rear outputs. Find your manual and find the disable option buried under the "Sound" menu.

Do you have the HU fader set to the front or something? Otherwise double-check the wiring against the diagrams.

I didn't find "front soundstage" but it was basically what you thought... it had an "initial setting" that I can only get to if the unit is turned off. .. rear output was set to S/W instead of FULL.

Sounds brilliant now... I didn't realize my stock speakers were that horrible. :) Thx.

No problem. Now, get some subs in there. ;)

Have a self-built sub ... works great... just gotta hook it up since the feed actually comes from the HU... previously we took it from the rear speakers. Running wires from the HU to the rear isn't all that fun. :)
