YACT: Question about dealing with a dealer and manufacture rebates

When the manufacture offers a rebate can that be taken off the invoice price and then negotiate from there?

That's the way I do it. Sometimes the rebate has to go directly to the buyer though. It's always better to get the dealer to lower the price which in turn lowers the sales tax.
