I'm getting a 91 Accord in 6 months when I get my license and I want to get some things done to it so driving it is a little more fun.

First, its being painted and getting a rusted portion replaced so the exterior is fine.

I want to know how much lights underneath the car will cost and how hard it is to install. I won't be doing it all on my own since my dad is pretty good with cars having taken engineering courses and working with them from some time. We don't really have anything to lift the car up high so could that pose a problem?

Also, how much would some decent subwoofers cost? I'm not looking for really big ones, just some to give my music a bit more "flavor." We've replaced the stock stereo and speakers so those are fine otherwise.

Also, any other nice small things you reccomend? I don't want performance related parts since I'm still learning to drive and I won't want to mess with performance and speed just yet, latleast for 5 or 6 years.

it just pisses a lot of people off, basically. You can check ric-i mean pep boys for the lights..i think they run in the 20-30's (kinda like what ricers' cars run)

Actually, since I never paid attention to car threads, I always felt that a ricer was someone who bought an asian decent car and modified it for performance...not for looks

By the consensus of the thread, I'll forget the neon lights. How about the subwoofer? I hope that doesn't mean me a ricer for audio 😉
 
Since no one else has answered, I will. Subs will cost you around 300$ probably less. I have lots of bass for little over 300 (12" Xplod P5, profile amp) Don't get neon underbody!!!

Underbody lights are illegal in all states unless the car is stopped (like at a show, not a stoplight). The urge to have them on while driving gets to anyone who owns them. A cop will pull you over if he sees you driving with them illuminated. The fines for that are like $150 or $200.

Ok, that gives me a good idea now of cost. Is that how much I should expect to pay or are there cheaper ones that are also good? I won't be using these for a ton of bass but I like the affect it adds to the music...

What you didn't see was those people getting pulled over about 2 miles down the road and the cop telling them they are fscked
 
Neon is only illegal if you can see where the glow is coming from (under the car you can't) at least in Iowa it varies from state to state. But nix the lights anyway.
