YACT: PowerShot S50 or S400?

Assuming price is the same, which would be the better deal? It seems to come down to resolution(S50, 5 MP) vs. size(S400). I really need it for casual use, probably in low-light conditions like at a club or something.

I have really no knowledge of digicams (last one was a Kodak DC3200 1.3 MP, piece of junk really).

The topics on this camera have been beaten to death, but it's a $300+ decision.....thats a lotta beers
