nothing ever....

I'm 21 and still don't have a license heh.
My gf drives me places if I want to go somewhere. It beats paying for insurance / gas / repairs.

1982 Plymouth "Reliant" station wagon.... Yeah, a K car wagon, baby! :)
1988 Ford Escort GL... Tough little car. Rock solid reliable. Every commuting college kid should have one of these.
1999 Mercury Cougar V6. Beautiful and fast little car, but a problem infested POS. Almost as many recalls as the Ford Focus... almost.
2003 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro. Love it! Fast, solid, suprisingly reliable, but a little cramped. Things also have a bad habit of running into mine, though, like teenaged drivers at stoplights or confused deer on back roads :(

LOL, I thought this thread was stupid but it got funnier looking at the patterns to what people owned... also this list doesn't make too much sense because after the first one, I've usually owned 2 cars at once. (later jeeps replaced earlier jeeps)

- 79 280ZX
- 91 300ZXTT
- 93 Jeep Wrangler
- 03 rental car (misc) for 8 months for work
- 88 Jeep Wrangler (bought it as a project, owned it for 4 months, sold it - never saw it)
- 99 Jeep Wrangler
- 01 Dodge Durango - my daily driver

I'm 28. The funny thing is, all my friends give me crap about my car buying habits (I get the "how many cars do you own this week?" a lot) - but from the looks of it, I'm way behind!

PS: I'd love to know how people afford the insurance on some of what they say they own. My driving record is "reasonable" but I still pay $250 a month for insurance for the last 2 cars listed...

My 05 Cooper S and my 99 Wrangler combine to cost $200 a month, full coverage on both.

3) 76 Pontiac Firebird Formula
4) ~85 Yamaha Special 650
5) 88 VW Rabbit

11) 2005 Nissan Maxima (just got it a few weeks ago)

Damn, I've had a lot of cars for a 35-year old. I usually keep them for 2-3 years and then get something new.

#4 is really a motorcycle, but that was my primary transport for a while, so I threw it in.

1) 1991 Lincoln Continental

I'm 19 and I don't even legally own the car (my Dad does). There's so much wrong with that thing I don't want my name on it anyways. At least it still moves though.

Yeah, the male car buying pattern is pretty consistant, starting with:

1) A Junker, something to learn on, OR
1) Sports car, which quickly gets wrecked by reckless driving, followed by the junker to learn on :)

Then...

2) 1 or 2 nice small sports cars or sports sedans that impress their lady friend

Then, once the guy gets married and becomes "whipped"...

3) Practical family car, or even worse...
3) An SUV or Minivan! Eww!

Then, when the mid-life crisis kicks in....

4) Pickup Truck OR
4) Motorcycle OR
4) Another sports car to impress the ladies with, followed by a divorce and alamony payments :)

Then, once you retire...

5) Big land boat of a car like a Cadillac or Buick OR
6) A big motorhome with a Saturn towed on the back OR
7) A couple of classic cars to restore. Bonus points if it's the same model car that you had to impress the ladies when you were in your 20's.
