No....the Pace cars that actually paced the Race were 396's. The ones you bought at the dealer came as 350's with an option for 396. Mine came as a 350. The Z11 code signifies a convertible while the Z10 code signifies a coupe.

EDIT: here is the first example I could come up with....I'm trying to find better documentation (by the way...this is NOT my car) PACE CAR

MUCH better source and info

Nice Links :)....The reason I asked about the 396 was because I have an old HodRod mag and it shows the rebuilding a big block camaro that a bunch of race drivers had autographed

As you can tell by my previous cars I've owned, I'm a Ford man...but I give credit where credit is due and you GOTTA respect a BBC motor

No problem....thanks for 'credit' :).

I'm not one of those 'crap on ford' people. In fact...my Dad just bought a 2004 Mustang Cobra SVT last week (screaming yellow hardtop) and it's already in the paint shop for some black deckstripes.

Heres some better pics of my cars:

1970 & 1966 Chevelles
1969 Camaro Pace Car Convertible Z11
My 2004 Cooper S and My Mom's 2004 Cooper

Hey, is that Classic MINI?! My S was in the exact same spot yours was when I picked it up! Is that Julie in the background?

[/quote]

Yep....Julie sold us three mini's total I got the S, my Mom got the base Mini, and my Dad got a Pepper White Cooper S with the Works package. Julie is nice and Classic is a great place to deal with.

Im 27, Ive had a few new cars, and Im in love with trucks...but with my talon, I fell in love with tuner cars and with the price of gas, its the only logical way to go.
Gas up here is 78 cents a litre.
I love 4 bangers, but I miss torque

1998: 1991 Ford Thunderbird V6 Coupe (Totaled in the rain car rearended me, had problems though. Used to accelerate on its own because of some spring under the hood)
2001: 1993 Pontiac GrandAM SE (Overheated and was fixed 6 times for the same problem. It was probably the mechanics fault but I have no proof. Sold for $200 bucks)
2004: 1989 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Royale Brougham Sedan (Traded in)
2005: 2005 Toyota Solara SE (I hate repairing my cars so I went ths route for a change)
