people were arguing about this today. some people claimed it was possible to fit a v8 into a civic. some people said it was utterly and completely impossible. regardless of if its a good choice (which obviously, is not) is this possible at all? and has it been done? im interested in this. as i've seen a webpage having a v8 inside a ford focus!

Yes it has been done, many times in fact, my next door nieghbor stuffed one into a 1982 Civic with a Ford 9 inch rear.

anything is possible. Push the firewall towards the rear and open up the fenders would make alot of room. I would think you would want to reinforce the "frame" to combat the torque of a V8, though.

Yes.

Someone put a V8 in a 3rd gen RX7... and it wasn't that much heavier than the original rotary at all.

The question is why. There are scores of cars that would make better projects or sleepers than a Civic.

Yeah, but getting torqued by a Civic has a higher "humiliation factor" due to its popularity with the riceboy crowd.

oh, thanks for the info. i was only curious to see if it were even possible. i know reasonably people would never do such a thing, but people were getting really emotional and mad saying its not possible. and were asking for proof of it or else they will kick their @$$. (i think those guys drove civics)

When I was at a local Mustang show a few years back, there was a guy there with a Miata that had a 302 5.0L V8 from a foxbody dropped in. That thing was SCARY fast. :Q
