YACT: Pontiac G6, anyone had any experience with them?

If you are talking about what I thinkg you are talking about it should drive the same as my 99 grand am. The wheel is VERY sensitive and it takes getting used to but once I did it was the nicest handling car I have ever driven. Mine was a 2 door though so I can't speak for the 4 door, but man that thing handled incredibly.

They handle nice, but you need to go drive a car with good steering to compare. A lot of the GM's just disconnect the steering from the road, especially during turning. Take a hard turn in a good car with good steering (my Subaru is much better than my gf's Saturn) and you will feel the road tugging at the wheel a bit as you take a fast turn. It will let you know how close you are to losing traction, etc. Try that in the Saturn and your first hint of traction loss is squealing tires.
 
I drive one everyday and it's pretty good. You can look up all the facts on your own time, I 'll tell you some real world experience.

1. It revs pretty high, and isn't as quiet as one might think while driving it.
2. It's so roomy. Baskseat, passenger, driver's, all good.
3. You'll love the dash, theres just something very asthetically pleasing about it.
4. For GM stock headlights, they are quite good, highbeams are awesome.
5. Great air conditioner, often too cold cold on the lowest setting. Does use more gas when on though, nothing too significant.
6. Roughly 450-550 km per tank of gas, depending on how much city driving you do.
7. Phenomenal handling. You feel very in control of the vehicle and the steering wheel feels great in your hands.

You could prolly get a vehicle that is better on gas for the same amount of money and still love the asthetics of that car. But, if you stick with the G6 you won't be disappointed. I love driving it to work, I love driving it in the city and I always feel comfortable and in control. All in all, a pretty decent production for GM. 🙂
 
I test drove a G6 GTP with the 3.9L V6 and the 6 speed manual. Dang that car was neat - it was REALLY hard to not buy it.

Yes, it is alot of Toyota in that car. Dad works for GM and he was ordering parts directly from the toyota warehouse for one.

The car is awesome, one of the best I4 engines on the market. Will be decently tourquy and they are underrated from factory. On the 5-spds they are constantly dynoing over stock.

They are a solid car, fantastic engine, and nice clean look...

This is the first I've heard of Toyota helping with the car, and I've done a lot of research. Links? This seems HIGHLY unlikely...

I lied, they technically helped on the vibe, but toota has some serious influence in pontiac rite now...
 
I drove a V6 rental for a week. At first I was disappointed because they were supposed to give me a GP because I paid for "full size". But anyways it's a pretty solid car. I got 34 mpg for that long trip I made (Berkeley-San Diego). Almost 500 miles.

One complaint though, and this may seem minor to a lot of you, but it's important nevertheless: REAR VISIBILITY.
The oddly shaped rearview mirrors and its narrow range of angle adjustment gave a pretty big dead zone. The low roofline also translated to a pretty small rear view overall.
But still, it's a very safe car - it's put very well together and the driver's seat is pretty comfortable.

there is no Toyota in any other Pontiac.
