I have an '86 MR2 n/a in fairly good shape..was thinking about swapping in a 4AGZE eventually (supercharged engine), and either running a smaller s/c pulley, or pulling the s/c and turbocharging the car. However, I've found some inexpensive 91+ MR2 Turbos (non-running in PA for $2500...running fine in FL for $3200..but I don't have the money now).

To build a solid medium/high-boost motor, it'll cost several thousand dollars (either swap engines, or install 4AGZE pistons and build a turbo setup with the stock block) -- a price for which I could probably find a 2nd-gen turbo..if I'm patient (which I'll have to be, since I don't have any money to play with at the moment).

We just did the head gasket on my car (had the head cleaned/inspected/rebuilt as well), so this engine should be set for another 180k or so..no worries about it dying..so no real excuse to pull the engine. :p

So..I thought I'd run it by ATOT..see what you all thought about it. :)

I voted for the first one..... only because that means more MK2s for me. I want one too. :p

MK2 all the way. 3sgte will go to 300hp+ pretty cheaply. They have CT20 turbos, good for 17psi. At least they did here. And MK2's look wicked.

CT26 turbo for 90-94 (smaller compressor wheel than the one on the 7M-GTE Supra). After this time, they switched over to the CT20B. The CT20 is a different turbo which was never used on the MK2 MR2 turbo.

MK1 MR2's are so light weight and fun to drive with or without boost. I would keep the MK1 and save up to buy a good shape MK2 MR2 Turbo. Just wait and you'll find the right one for you. It'll all be worth the wait. Find one with a Sunroof or hardtop, I heard the T Tops crack.

By far the funnist car to drive that I have driven.

Plus I think they look like transformers =

So much pep for such a low profile work of art. I haven't driven a turbo either. I can't imagine.
