Yes.

Edit: although the upcoming Subaru-based 9-2X will be AWD, and they will have an Envoy-based SUV that will presumably be AWD as well.

what about reliability? We all know that Audis arent so hot in that department...

I heard saab isnt so good after the first year. In fact, i think a person on edmunds states that the car broke down during a test drive! As a person with GM dollars, Id like to know if this car will last, because Id be up for one.

I totally agree on the 6 cylinder part. It is a sweet looking car, but Id rather have the BMW.

An Envoy based one? BAH!

GM take a freaking hint! WE DON'T WANT YOUR STINKING BADGE ENGINEERING!

That platform (I think it is called the GMT 360) is really getting around.
The short wheelbase version is used in the TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada, the new Buick Rainier, and possibly the upcoming Saab SUV (9-7X?).
The long wheelbase version is used in the TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, and Isuzu Ascender. So there are 8 versions of essentially the same SUV. :disgust:

I think the Chevy SSR also uses this platform but at least it's not badge-engineered.

My SAAB is 4 now, with no major problems. In fact, the only problems have been burnt out lights.

The reason they put in a turbo 4 instead of a 6 is to get the immediate torque at low RPMs.

FYI, here's my SAAB 9-5.

That's not a very good shot... there seems to be something obstructing the view.

Pathetic and embarrasing are my words for it. It's a shame to put the SAAB name (associated with being innovative and hi-tech) on a stone-age technology body-on-frame car. Just sad.
Sure enough GM helped SAAB survive as a brand but we do not need another brand of Buick/Chevy/Olds/Pontiac. If possible GM should stay the he11 out of SAAB.

It just proves that this whole "Lutz is going to save GM" thing is just marketing.

True it is front wheel drive and has 210HP and ~245ftlb of torque and is just as fast with the "Sentronic" Auto/Manual transmision as the 6 speed however the 5 speed is a little quicker. There is also a ECM upgrade available that increases the HP to ~245 and torque to ~275. I will be doing this when my warranty expires. The warranty is similar to the others like BMW. 3 free maint and 4 year bumper to bumper.

The heated seats are adjustable, the ACC (automatic climate control) is autstanding. My windows had never fogged up. I will take pics of the inside or you can just look at carpoint.

The FWD suprizingly handles very well compared to the Hondas I have had in the past. What makes it better is the fact that it has what is called ReAXs where the rear wheels actually "steer" almost like 4 wheel steering. I believe they will turn up to 5 degrees and will also adjust the camber automatically.
