YACT: Paint Job

I currently have a Black '87 E30. I am the third owner, and the previous owner did utter crap touch ups on the car. Also, since the car is 17 years old with the original paint, the paint is in pretty poor condition. I intend to get the car repainted in either black or a dark shade.

Either way though I have to decide between the panel by panel method, or the strip the car and the strip the paint option.

So Either

-Panel by Panel-
Pros: Cheaper, probably quicker
Cons: Doesn't last as long, not really the proper way to paint a car, and more limited choices

-Strip the Car to the body, and strip the paint-
Pros: Last longer, More color choices, potentially may find rust spots, a fresh paint start, simply the proper way to repaint the car
Cons: Requires a lot more prep work, takes longer overall, and costs a lot more

Note: As far as prep work I will probably disassemble the car down to the body for option 2 to save some money since I have the time to.

Should I A) Send the car in to be repainted panel by panel, or B) Disassemble the car down to the body myself and send the body in for a proper baked on car paint job.

If you are going to be keeping this car for a long time, then there really is only one way to do it. I'd go option 2 no doubt, plus, its fun taking apart and putting back together the cars interior and what not. If you ahve the time and patience and space to dissasenble, then by all means do it that way.
