I am looking at a 94 lexus gs300 w/only 78k miles. I did a carfax and the miles are true. He wants $6500.00 and thats pretty firm, Does NE1 here have any experience with these 1st get gs300s ? Its gold and I am not too crazy about the color, but the car is clean inside and out. It would be the nicest car that I have ever had and the most money that I have ever spent on a ride. It would also be the first car that I have owned that needed an alarm, full insurance and had an automatic transmission. Its so luxurious though and rides like a dream. Under the hood is a 3.0litre DOHC straight six and thats the same engine that they put in the Supra and SC300. In Japan these are sold as Toyota Aristos. Should I get it ? thanks

I thought it was a pretty cool looking car.

Had a 99 GS so I can't tell you much about the 94 other than I liked it.

Sounds like a good price and low miles too. Take it to a mechanic or to a Lexus dealers for a checkup. If the car is good I would buy it.

the only thing that would scare me is you are gonna put down 6.5K on a 10 year old car.

Stifko, I see you are from NYC.

My friend is a head mechanic at Lexus in Wayne. If you want to get it checked out, he could probably do it for you there for a fee during his lunch hour.

mmmm GS300...very nice cars.

Be wary of the cup holder assembly breaking off..and hte leather cracking. Also hte display on the head unit may flicker/fade off.

depends, how much is upkeep. can your really afford the upkeep of an old luxury car. is it even worth the extra cost

Call a Lexus dealership and give them the VIN.... Lexus (and I think Infiniti?) will publically provide any records on service or repair on a VIN.

don't get your heart set on the fact that it's a Lexus...it's still a 10 year old car. Lowball him and take it from there.
<--regrets buying his Jaguar :(

I think Toyotas are pretty reliable though, regardless of age. Ever notice how many old Corollas and Camrys are about? Jaguar is not known for their reliability.
