What do you guys think of this car? I just saw it for the first time the other day and I really liked how it looked, then I read it has like 287 hp and a 6 spd tranny. Looking for opinions.

Considering it's price/performance/looks, I'd say it's an excellent car :)

Nice car, well put together, however if I was going to purchase a new sports car around that price range a couple grand less would get a Mustang Mach1 or a couple grand more a Mustang Cobra. (Then again I'm biased towards Ford)

drove one yesterday...

the interior of the nissan > ford

very nice car, very torque'y, much different than the turbo/vtec feel i'm used to, nice seat of your pants action all the way through (only took it to ~5k though)

nissan > ford ;)

Like Amanda already said, I'd go with the G35 as well. Cleaner look in my opinion, and the price is rougly comparable. But, either way, you won't go wrong.

I'm in the market for a new car (finally graduated and got a job  ) and I'm very interested in the 350z and the G35 coupe. I do think that I like the G35 better. I like the extra space and the styling is really nice. Haven't driven one yet (my dealer only had one in a showroom, and couldn't get it out without lots of trouble), but I rode in a friend's 350z and it was plenty fast for me. Even though the Infiniti is a hair slower because of the weight, I still would love to drive it.

I dont really like the looks of it. Thats all i KNOW.

I've HEARD its a side wall scrubber and pretty slow wihtout much torque. This also came from guys who drive Porsches so they may have a bit of a skewed view. Hard to compare a $25,000 sports car to a $90,000 sports car and have much of a challenge.

If it was me? No 350. Get a Lancer Evo VII.

I'm looking at both of those cars. Good luck getting the G35. They told me that they were only getting 2 a month and were backordered 4 months on the 6-speed model. It didn't blow me away when I sat in it at the dealer...a bit cramped. The Z might actually be roomier for the driver since there is no rear seat.

problem with the z is that it has the 'first production year' problems, so anyone thinking of getting one should wait it out for another year or two.

same thing happened with the boxster, thats why i want a '00 and not a '97 :)

OK, the Z has enough torque to stare you in the eyes and kick you in the sack. It puts out over 280lb ft of torque, and is a light car. Oh and it handles like it's on rails.
