That article should explain some things

Oh look at that, someone with domestic cars hating on a Honda, how appropriate.

The linear spring rates of most coilover systems make for harsh bouncy ride on the street. On a race car its the best systmem as you can tailor spring rates and height. Cheapo coilovers are complete garbage and often seize.

If you are doing it for looks and want a more sporty ride, go for a progressive rate spring and an uprated strut/shock that can handle the increase.

Camber plates are useful when you lower a car so far the slignment is out of whack and nothing will bring it back into spec unless you have camer plat adjustability. On a moderate drop of 1-1.5" usually you will not need this.

Lower it enough so that you catch the frame on the first manhole you try to drive over and total your car. then the rest of us won't have to be slowed down by these iditots that make their cars un-drivable on many streets.

I did see some kid crash big time after his stooooooopid looking ride snagged a manhole (which didn't budge) and the frame was bent to bad he couldn't open the doors to get out. Made my day!!!!!!!!!

Excellent link.

I saw (surprise, surprise) a Civic with what looked like about ten degrees negative camber ... but only on the rear wheels. Hatchback, double-spoilers (one on the top, one on the middle) ...

I swear, when I get the requisite assload of money, I'm going to get a Civic body and drop an LS1 into it just to commit automotive heresy in the opposite direction as the ricers.

I'd like to see that. If you ever get around to doing that, publish a whole writeup!
