well the reason being there is a strong fuel smell on the underside..

until the tech goes in there.. he isnt sure if it might require that.. But he said most chances are its a exhaust hole or a exhaust gasket replacement.

The thing is that i got a sheild on the exhaust (it was a recall i believe at one time) Its a heat sheild on the exhaust.. i wonder if its under there..

we will see what they say.

Pray, and pray hard that the studs/bolts holding the manifold to the head havent sheared off. Thats what the problem with my S-10 was. Not cheap to fix. Good luck to you....

Any updates yet?

The last couple times I ran into your symptoms as your described in you last post I found a spark plug came out of the cylinder causing the noise and driveability concern.

nope.. i just called them (today is wednesday) and they are still working on it.. its apparently on the lift.. it has been since yesterday morning..

lets hope i get to see her today.. i think my car isnt getting priority because its a longer job. They are probably taking on the easier stuff (daily stuff) first and then getting my car to work on in the afternoon.

I got the car back today. They called this morning around 9:30 saying the car was ready. I took a cab to Galpin Ford and picked it up (15 freaking bucks for a <6mile ride). Cost me 200 bucks for the service.

Apparently the EGR tube had a tear (in the rubber connector peice from what i understood), hence the exhaust noise. They took a while to trace it. They did some more work that i didnt ask them to do. They adjusted my shifter a bit (not fixed it but adjsuted it) so its shifting better, they rotated my tires, and they gave my car a nice wash and detail.. I think they also tightened a whole lot of stuff or whatever, it doesnt seem to rattle as much when the engine is cold. They didnt charge me for the added work though.

The car is running good.. they did say i need new tires soon and I need new brakes (rotors) soon. However i am aware of them both. eventually i will get those done when needed.

It's nice to see a dealership going the extra step for a customer. It's the way it should be to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
