*YACT* Mustang Cobra fans: Doesn't the 2003 cobra have a V-8!? How is it possible to have a V-6 in a 2003

this says that the 2003 Cobra SVT has a V-8. Chelsea got a ride home from a coworker's boyfriend who has one. He works for Intel and Intel moved him out here from Chicago, so he's probably got a job important enough to pay him enough to buy the car.

Chels is pretty sure that he said V-6 instead of V-8 when they were talking about it.

WTF... is there an option for the stupid version of the SVT? V-6!?

He may be one of those annoying people who have money to buy cars they know nothing about. I can't imagine Ford would EVER market an SVT Cobra with a six in it.

There is no such thing as a V6 Cobra... like the others have said. The only way I could ever see Ford making a V6 Cobra was if it had 2 huge turbos attached to that V6.

BTW.. $35K for a Cobra isn't all that terribly expensive for a car these days. Look at all the SUVs.

She's not that car-savvy. She can tell a shelby from a stock model on the vintage mustangs because I've been teaching her little by little, but she wouldn't be able to tell the difference from V-6 and V-8 unless they were running side-by-side or something.

I can tell the difference, but I wasn't the one who got a ride in the 2003 Cobra. Like I said, she's pretty sure that he said V-6. But in asking her for verification, she said that she's not sure what he said the more that she thinks about it. She's not feeling well and is going to the doctor's office to find out what's wrong. So maybe he said the eight and she doesn't remember correctly.

The 2003 Cobra has a 390-bhp supercharged 4.6L V-8. I suppose one could confuse it with a V-6 if he didn't know better, since its exhaust note is mostly dominated by supercharger whistle.

I doubt there is a single soul who owns a 2003 Cobra that doesn't know EXACTLY what it has in it.

$10 says it's a V6 'Stang with aftermarket Cobra emblems.

A side note on the Cobras, they are extremely hard to get ahold of, no way in hell anybody will get them for the MSRP.

I have seen a few running around the area though, a red one & a black one.

Nik, everyone can max out their credit cards. I am not saying this guy doesn't have one, but a 2003 Cobra differs so much from any 2003 Mustang that it would be hard for someone with even a lack of car knowledge to mistake it for a V6.

Find out for us. I am interested. Did she not see the snake emblems and hear a whining noise?

If you don't understand why a person with fake cobra badges would be listening to this, then I can't explain it to you. It is a native knowledge of asshats my kemosabe.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with listening to those bands, rather I suggested what music he listened to. Speaking from experience, the most likely to have a riced out car or a Fobra would be a DMB/Dashboard clown or a Eminem clone.

um, DMB and dashboard are two completely different genres of music, listened to by different people, who dress, act, and even speak differently. i've never met a single person who listened to one who also listened to the other. in fact, everyone i've talked to dislikes the other band/artist. it's like saying "chemical brothers/dr dre clown" because both use electronics in their music. you sir, are a musical moron.

as for our friend with the V-6 "cobra," i suspect he was pulling a fast one on the lady, thinking he could impress her with his cobra badges.

The sound of a 03 Cobra at full throttle is unmistakeable with any other Mustang ever made. EVER. I just spent the past 20 minutes looking for this awesome video of a 03 vs a Z06 at the track and the supercharger whine is very present. (03 beat the Z06 13.08 to 13.18 - high altitude apparently or very hot)
