YACT: More car trouble

1993 Toyota Celica. The car just overheats to the max every time I start driving. I managed to get it back to my house. I put in 2 gallons of coolant and it still overheats to the point that massive amounts of smoke/steam (whichever it is) starts coming out of the front of the engine area. What do I do. My friend suggested me to buy a new coolant cap and a new thermostat. I'll do that tomorrow morning. What else? Am I missing anything? Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem is?

how about take the car to a shop... ATOTer's aren't exactly mechanics. maybe just me.

The car stop running a few times right before I parked it in the lot. But I managed to get it into a spot. And the power steering got very very stiff at one point as well.

Good chance for a warped head too.

Not to mention cracked radiator.

These repairs are going to cost you more than $1000, less if you're lucky, only because you didn't change a $5 thermostat. Now that would suck.
