My friend.. (one who got the Lexus Stolen..seems he had partial insurance, but still getting no money from it) Went to the Brooklyn Nissan Dealer and leased for 48 months a Black/4cylinder/auto/cd cassette/cloth seat/no abs Altima for $180 a Month with $1800 due at signing. His insurance is (together with his father is now $6K anually) He would spend $10,500 on the car payments over the course of the 4 year term.

While I rather Enjoy my 01 Astro.. I don't like driving it every where (since its paid for and I'm under warranty till 75K miles) It gets scratched easily, and is a LUG to bring to places.. plus it isnt a good performer on rough roads...

But I'm looking into the deal also.. plus the financial officer is a close friend to my father and I bet I can get an even better deal. Currently I pay $1K insurance for my astro (vans are cheap) but its still under my fathers name.. he has a good record :D

I want an Altima (manual) leased so I can pretty much go anywhere... pay less for gas since its a 4 banger and beat the living hell out of the car. Any thoughts??

Could also consider Mazda 6 (4 cylinder)

I was also looking at the 2003 altima 3.5 SE and there are people having problems with the Altima. I haven't read another forum far enough to see if the 2003 altimas are affected.

If your looking for just a commuter car, get a 2000 Altima. Has awesome build quality (no rattles or squeaks), gets really good mileage, is damn cheap to buy, and very reliable.

Would the insurance cost the same?
