I have an '02 Dodge Dakota w/ a 4.7 and 5 speed manual. I'm looking for a clutch kit (performance, OEM replacement, it doesn't matter at this point) and so far the only place I can think of that I haven't checked is the dealer. The latest model that anyone has a clutch for is a 2000. We're talking about a standard clutch disk+pressure plate+throwout bearing kit, not a specialty item or anything like that. Any help?

Places I've checked so far:

Centerforce
Summit
Jegs
Ram
Napa (yes, the major auto parts store)
and a couple of smaller places.

That is the NV3500, right? I think that the Jeep clutch is about the same. The only differences are that the 3500 is an older version of the 3550. The 3550 has an integrated bellhousing. I know that the Jeep 3.7 is based on the 4.7, so it should to be the same.

iamwiz82: You'd think that, but consider that for some reason there is a difference between the 2000, and 2001 4.7+NV3500 combo. Hurst's shifter doesn't work without modification.

I guess the biggest downside to owning a Dodge is that noone makes jack for it. 0 CARB approved cams, took K&N 4 years to make an FIPK kit that consists of a standard cone filter, plastic tube w/ a right angle, and a box (pretty much like a stock setup, but with a cone instead of a panel filter). 0 intake manifolds. The only intake manifolds and cams that I can get away with are the Jeep HO which only gain about 20-30HP on the top end. There's manufacturers with 7 different clutches for an f'ing Honda Civic and I can't get one for my Dakota. </Rant>

Did Dodge move to the 3550 in 2001?

I thought the 2000 Dak had a 4.7 too.. should they not be the same clutch and everything?

maybe you can find out if the one for the 2k Dak will work.

CraigRT: you'd think so, but like I've said, something about the shifter was different so Hurst's shifter works on a 2000, but not an '02. Something changed, and noone felt like keeping up.
