YACT: Looking at a 96 Mazda Protege, How much would a clutch job be?

1.5 ltr engine, the price is right for what I need but it has 134k on the original clutch and I feel it would need to be replaced fairly soon after purchase.
If I purchased it.
Anyone know how much it would run at a shop to get it replaced?
A "clutch kit" runs about $125-175 from an auto parts store, but I can't put it in myself.

It'll probably cost around $600 if you have a shop do it.

Actually, I know a few guys that helped out their buddy by changing one in a parking lot (illegal as heck of course) over the course of one afternoon.

Then they proceeded to do a celebratory burnout and get plastered that night. 😀
It's about ~4 hours of labor... pretty easy with such a small motor and trans.
