YACT: Look what I am doing tomorrow!!!

Gonna be great! I autocrossed once before, and I had a fantastic time with only 3 runs. I believe I'll probally be closer to 40 or so runs tomorrow. Only 8 people are going, and I believe there will be 4 people per instructor, so we'll have lots of time to practice. Then Sunday, is the autocross competition in which I will try and show off my newly found skills.

Got my car all prepared. Did a wheel alignment with a slight negative camber, got new brake rotors and pads. Luckily for me, autocross is more about driver than car (though a fast car helps 🙂), just taking out my 97 Saturn SC2.

Well, I guess its for a couple of good reasons.

You don't want to crash a $30k car they supply. Plus, I learn what to do in MY CAR. Whats the point in learning the style in a completely different car?

As far as I know, there are about 3-4 Z28s/Firebirds/TransAms going, and one Evo8. I have no clue on the others. My mighty Saturn will prevail!

It's good to see another Saturnfans member here 😀

My 16 year ol' sis needs some good driving lessons.

VUE

I love it, except the gas mileage is nowhere near what the sticker said. That's what I get for buying a SUV (or crossover vehicle to some people) 🙂

Very nice! V6 AWD! 🙂... doubtful, but is that the Redline?

I always thought the VUE was the best small SUV out. Best looks (imo), dent resistant doors, and the VUE Redline has 250hp w/ AWD 😀.

No Redline here. My 2003 3.0 V6 only has 181 hp. The 2004 3.5 has 250 hp. I bought the 2003 because of the 0% and graduate discount. I don't mind about the hp too much considering I am buying a new bike in the summer (pending on the grad school situation).

My pops bought a Pacifica right after I bought my VUE and he still wants to drive the VUE whenever I come over.

Yeah, if your car is sporty then it would be better to learn in your own car. If you car is like mine then it would suck. They should have an option to drive a car that they have there for more $$$. The car could be insured, and that insurance would be included in the price.

If the car is manual then there is plenty of benefits for learning in that car. Especially for someone like me who doesn't know how to drive manual.

Your car only has 1 seat? 😕

No, its got 4.... (modded '92 Maxima)

I think they are saying you must have at least a two seater car. One seat for yourself, and one for the instructor.

Every car that I know of thats going to be there is a 4 seater.

that evo8 is sure to rip up the track.... wow.

Yep, sure will. I'll be sure to get some crappy pics with my Camera phone.

Its going to be in the same class as F-Bodies (Z28s and such), but supposedly they are so quick, F-Bodies aren't even competitive anymore. Apparently one of the instructors who drives a Z28 wants to test out an Evo8 and compare.
