good idea or bad idea?

possible pros: thief would have to find hidden switch before going anywhere, and burnout would attract attention.

possible cons: solenoid current draw and reliability? but on the other hand some cars use to come with them stock for parking on hills. this suggests acceptable long term usage?

discuss.

They make manually operated line locks.

I have one , though I have never gotten around to installing it.

I was going to use mine as a secondary parking brake.

That would be a bit of work to install but as an emergency brake, it's full ZOOT !

Why not put a hidden toggle switch in the hot wire for the fuel pump? :)

Either way a broken window and a slide hammer applied to the ignition switch will be happening :(

They work great as parking brakes but unfortunaely it is illegal to rely on them as your only parking brake as the law states it must be a "manual" braking device using no hydraulics or electricity.
