#1 i have a manual transmission
#2 i want remote start
#3 i already have an alarm(avital)
#4 i have an extra button on my remote and i want it to be the remote start
#5a i know there is something called neutral safety switch, which will disable remote start unless the car is in neutral
#5b i dont want the kind where you have to do a sequence to activate it i.e. pull the key out, put up e brake, shut the door, then the car goes off

#7 i dont want to hear people say im lazy, im on the 5th floor and i live in Utah, remote start is ideal.

#8 unless you can help me please dont comment, im just trying to find a remote start i can use on my manual transmission at a decent price without getting a new alarm, or having to do the sequence, i just want the neutral safety switch

thank you

Simple answer: disable the neutral safety switch (the one on the car).

As for your sequence thing....I suppose you could rig up some relays to override it but it'd be easier to just use the remote start unit as it is. Why would you want to disable the safety system that keeps ppl from stealing your car?

I want to get a remote start for my car also.. it's a 5sp.... kindof a hassle going out, starting my car up every morning, going back inside for 5 mins... i'd like to be able to start it and chill inside. :p

my last car had a remote start... it was auto though. :(

your talking about the clutch override, im talking about the neutral saftey swith
a neutral safety switch ensures it is in neutral to start the car, remote or not, clutch override is under the clutch making it possible to start your car without the clutch pushed in

Don't see the danger as long as its in neutral and the e-brake is up.

Now, if you were in the habit of leaving your car in first... that would be a danger.

Most cars don't have this. You'd have to rig up something for your particular car.

I don't follow what you mean by this. Why would you leave the car on?

as far as the switch, thats what i am talking about, i need that switch if someone knows where to get it

and as for the leaving the car on, the way the alarm/remote start is set up is so that you have to leave the car on when you exit your car and then when you shut the door, it locks and turns off the ignition guranteeing it was in neutral when you left

Oh. I didn't know they did that. Neutral safety switch you'll have to make on your own. I've never seen/heard of one. Every car is a littler different afterall.
