YACT: just sold an old car, but did not make buyer sign 'as is' form

well i just sold my old car for a grand total of 600 big ones. it was a g20 with rear bumper damage. in the excitement of getting $600 for it ( i would have been happy with 400), i did not ask the buyer to sign one of those 'as is' forms, to say that the car is sold as is. he gave me $600 cash, i gave him the title and key, he drove the car away. is there anything i should do now? this is the first time i sold a car.

thanks

Well, it's too late to really do anything. So just take your chances and hope he doesn't bring it back. He probably wont.

Be sure to file the change of ownership with the DMV right away.
I sold my truck to a whole seller. I assumed he would handle all the paperwork, he didn't.
The new owner kept getting tickets for running the Fast Track toll booth in San Francisco. But I kept getting the notices.

You let him have your license plate?

The new owner was in the same state so the plates stay on the vehicle.

In California, the pink slip is the form, and one section of it is a "release of liability". You get the release, give that to the DMV to basically tell them "I don't own the car, joe-bob does." and joe-bob puts it in saying "I own the car, here's my info and proof.". When I sold my car, I was at the DMV's desk the next day (I sold it in the evening) with the release of liability. I saw it around once or twice.
